A nine-year-old girl with a muscle weakening and wasting condition met with pop princess Kylie Minogue ahead of a charity ball.
Abigail Bolt-Mead, from Kent, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II, enjoyed an exclusive meet and greet with The Voice judge, Kylie, before her performance at Caudwell Children’s Butterfly Ball in London last week.
Proceeds from the evening enable the charity to provide practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.
Abigail, who was selected to go on Caudwell Children’s Destination Dreams family holiday, for children with life threatening illnesses, was invited to attend the event in order to highlight the support that disabled children need.
The ball, hosted by singer and Caudwell Children ambassador, Peter Andre, was attended by stars including X Factor supremo Simon Cowell and the winner of the last series of the show Sam Bailey, the Duchess of York, singer Emeli Sande and Sunderland and England footballer Wes Brown.
Guests were treated to an evening of entertainment from classical music star Alfie Boe and Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde, before a headline set from Kylie.
The event raised a record breaking £2.5 million.
Lots on offer included a week on Sir Richard Branson’s private island, a chance to meet thepresenters of Top Gear at a special event in South Africa, and a rare opportunity to have dinner with former Soviet statesman, Mikhail Gorbachev.
