Kylie's 'miracle' cancer fightback

Pop singer Kylie Minogue said that being selfish helped her in her fight to overcome breast cancer.

Asked on Australian TV how she got through the gruelling time, Ms Minogue (inset) said: "Oh boy, how did I do that?"

The 46-year-old pop star explained that friends and family advised her to focus solely on herself when she was diagnosed with cancer. "Someone had said to me at the time, 'you need to be a little bit selfish'," explained the Australian singer.

"It's not in my nature to be selfish but now is the time to do that let people take care of you. And that's what I did," added the star.

She also said that having her hair grow back after initially losing it was like a "miracle". The star, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and received the all-clear in March 2011.

The 'Loco-Motion' singer, who was asked what the time in her life had taught her, said she learnt many things but she looks back on it with a mixture of emotions.
