A leading travel advice website has confirmed that it has removed negative comments about the now notorious Legends Hotel in Mauritius.
Concerned holidaymakers posted warnings about the five-star resort on Trip Advisor following Michaela Harte's murder last week, which were later taken down by the site.
The world's largest hotel rating company, which collects reviews from tourists, told the Herald that these recent observations did not meet the site's guidelines.
"Reviews will be removed from TripAdvisor if the review does not meet our guidelines, one of which is that reviews must be based on the traveller's own experience," a spokeswoman for the online service said.
At the time of going to press, only two reviews of the hotel dated from 2011 had not been removed, both gave positive reviews.
