JERSEY RETAILERS STRIKE GOLD IN KINGDOM

IT IS a welcome boost to business that doesn't come every year but one retailer says it has shortened the long winter.

It's that time of year when demand for all things green and gold is insatiable in Kerry. Jerseys have been flying out the door ahead of the big clash – and even Dublin jerseys are selling in the Kingdom.

And it's been a lifeline for businesses like Brian Hennebery's in Ashe Street, Tralee.

"This time last year there was no demand for jerseys but when your team gets to the semi-final the jerseys are walking out the door and it all helps and it's shortened winter for us, I'll put it that way," Mr Hennebery told the Herald.
