Irish firms in global battle for vital deals
FIRMS here are looking overseas to improve their growth prospects -- with nearly half anticipating turnover of more than 50pc in foreign markets.
Professional services giant Deloitte found 75pc of expanding firms are looking at the UK to boost sales, along with France, Germany and the US.
However, the survey showed poor access to funding and low levels of international expertise are major deterrents. Padraig Cronin, Deloitte's head of tax and legal services said: "While this is, no doubt, a reaction to the weakened demand in the local marketplace, it also shows that many Irish companies have the agility to adapt to the changing global marketplace."
