Irish aid is helping thousands of refugees
Ireland is helping tens of thousands of refugees with food and shelter as the lives of growing numbers of people are hit by war, famine and disasters.
Trade and Development Minister Joe Costello, in marking World Refugee Day today, expressed concern at the increasing numbers of refugees displaced across the world.
Irish Aid is helping more than 130,000 refugees in South Sudan alone by working through partner organisations. In Syria, Ireland is supporting UN refugee workers who are helping tens of thousands of people forced to leave their homes.
