INM sees growth in ads and inserts

Independent News & Media, the company that publishes the Herald, said advertising business is improving with property, recruitment and inserts showing the biggest increases while the digital business continues to grow.

The group has delivered a marginal increase in year-to-date profitability, the publisher said yesterday.

Cost savings are more than offsetting a substantial investment in the digital operations and any sales reductions this year, INM added.

In the period from January 1 to November 14, underlying total advertising revenues from both print and online rose 0.4pc year-on-year when adjusted for the impact of the closure of the company's free sheet business in Northern Ireland.
