'Influential' Geldof is top-paid Irish 'elite' speaker
His most famous line is: "Give us the f**king money", so it will come as little surprise that Bob Geldof is among the most well-paid "elite" public speakers around.
The outspoken and often foul-mouthed Dublin musician and activist is charging between €40,000 and €70,000 a talk with Dublin-based Speaker Solutions.
The Live Aid hero, who's worth an estimated €57m, is the only Irish national listed in the elite top-fee category - the other three being tennis legend Boris Becker, musician Dave Stewart and astronaut Ron Garan.
Susan Gavin, founder of Speaker Solutions, said she believed the secret to the 68-year-old Boomtown Rats frontman's appeal was not only his eloquence, but also his multi-faceted backstory in music, business and as a humanitarian.
"His keynotes are always bespoke, but his thoughts on the modern world, how fractious the world has become and the dangers this brings to business, keeps him relevant and influential," she said.
Geldof isn't the only high-profile Irish figure in demand here and in the UK.
Former president Mary Robinson has been listed with UK-based Speakers Associates as one of the agency's eight "most requested" speakers.
Other high-profile Irish figures charging the highest fee with the London-based agency include Graham Norton, former motorsport team boss Eddie Jordan and comic Dara O Briain.
