The jury has been discharged in the trial of a Meath resident charged with robbing over €300,000 worth of cigarettes and of falsely imprisoning two delivery men.
Frank Cunningham (62), of Moyfenrath, Enfield, has pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to the robbery of tobacco products worth €314,916 and the false imprisonment of Joseph O'Toole and Edward Postol in Blanchardstown on March 14, 2007. He also denies firearms and theft charges. The case was adjourned.
A dog ate three of his diabetic owner's toes as he slept, probably out of instinct to help remove diseased flesh, animal experts said.
James Little (61) of Roseburg, Oregon, made an emergency call on Tuesday to say his dog had eaten the toes while he was sleeping. He said yesterday he was "doing fine".
