TWO brothers have been jailed for attacking a security guard, leaving him with a 15cm wound on his back.

William Coady (18) slashed Mohammed Abdul's back with a blade after the man got out of his car to confront him when the teen began to scratch his vehicle.

Gavin Coady (20) punched the man in the face and tried to grab the victim's wife's phone as she "frantically" tried to call the gardai.

Judge Mary Ellen Ring sentenced William to three-and-a-half years while Gavin received a two-year term.

Floods kill four in Indonesia

RAINS have triggered massive flooding in Indonesia, triggering the evacuation of at least 20,000 people.

Authorities said four people had been killed by the waters, which washed into homes, offices, schools and roads across Jakarta.

Monsoon rains, deforestation in the hills around the capital, chaotic planning and hundreds of waterways combined to cause floods, which expose the country's poor infrastructure.

Triple murderer executed in US

A US murderer who campaigned to be executed got his wish when he was put to death in the electric chair.

Robert Gleason (42) was serving life in Virginia for murder when he killed his cellmate and later strangled another inmate. He fought attempts by his former lawyers to stop the execution, insisting that he deserved to die.
