IMF tips better GDP

THE International Monetary Fund has outlined an improved forecast for the Irish economy.

The IMF predicted a 0.3pc shrink in gross domestic product for 2010, compared to its forecast of a 0.6pc in July.

However, it called for a "very credible fiscal adjustment" in Ireland and supported the tough measures being taken by the Government.
