IMF in bank warning

THE IMF has said that European banks need to be recapitalised if they can withstand future potential losses.

The European debt crisis has caused a debt risk of €300bn in the banking sector, according to the Global Stability Report, issued by the IMF. It said that the international financial system is weak and the risks to its stability have increased "substantially" in recent months.
