Kathryn Thomas has been talking to a magazine about publishing photographs of her upcoming marriage to Padraig McLoughlin.

The RTE presenter (38) could be set to follow in the footsteps of other Irish celebrities such as Amanda Byram, who sold her wedding photos to Hello! magazine.

"I wouldn't say no [to a magazine deal]," she said. "I have had a chat. At the end of the day, Ireland is a small country and people are going to see the pictures anyway."

Dress

The Carlow woman, who previously said she is hoping to get married next year, has begun planning the big day after Padraig proposed to her in November.

"I'm looking forward to getting everything nailed down and then get working on the dress," said the Operation Transformation host.

"I have a couple of designers I know I want to work with. I'd love to wear Irish.

"We're moving into the decision stages, which is good," she told the Herald.

Golfer Rory McIlroy pulled out all the stops to ensure maximum privacy at his recent marriage to Erica Stoll in Ashford Castle, Co Mayo.

A host of security guards were brought in and wedding staff were banned from using their mobile phones.

However, Kathryn has insisted she will be taking a more relaxed approach to her special day.

"I certainly won't be going to the McIlroy level, covering my entire venue with a tent. I would agree with whatever anyone wants on the day.

"I wouldn't be putting a big security detail in place in any shape or form. You just have to enjoy it."

Having been a bridesmaid several times in the past, Kathryn is looking forward to finally celebrating her own wedding.

"I'm like that movie 27 Dresses. I've been a bridesmaid seven times at this point," she said.

"It's about having a big party. It's a big bash at the end of the day and you want all your friends to be around you."

Kathryn was speaking at the launch of the 2017 Happy Heart Appeal, taking place nationwide to raise funds in the fight against heart disease and strokes.

The target for this year's appeal is €500,000.
