'I'm a lady, you know' - Maura dresses down for Abbey slot
Maura Higgins revealed her upper-crust aspirations after filming in the historic Highclere Castle for a special Downton Abbey segment for This Morning.
The 28-year-old Longford girl ditched her trademark glamorous ensembles to dress down for the role of a maid and was filmed wearing a black dress with a rounded white colour and a matching headband.
Filmed to coincide with this week's release of the first film based on the smash-hit ITV series, she cut a relaxed figure as she larked about with fellow presenter Alison Hammond.
"I should be upstairs because I am a lady, you know," she said.
"I shouldn't be downstairs dusting. I'm going to work my way up."
She then spoke about the history of the 177-year-old venue and how so many movies were filmed there, including Eyes Wide Shut, The Four Feathers and The Secret Garden.
She has been going down a storm with viewers of the popular show since landing the coveted gig after finishing up fourth on Love Island alongside Curtis Pritchard.
Living the high life in London at the moment, Maura appears to be relishing every moment in the spotlight.
She turned heads on Monday night at the TV Choice Awards in a gorgeous gold-sequinned dress made especially for her by Irish designer Eamonn McGill and spoke about how her pal Amber Gill was coping with the split from Greg O'Shea.
"I don't want to bombard her with messages. She just needs time to herself right now," she said.
"She's such a strong, independent woman, she'll be absolutely fine," she said.
Maura recently spoke about how she and love interest Curtis have yet to put a label on their relationship by calling themselves boyfriend and girlfriend.
She joked how they were currently "friends with benefits" when quizzed about their romance by Ryan Tubridy.
"We are happy together," she said.
"We're not rushing things, and I don't think we have to just because people are saying, 'Oh they've not made it official yet.'
"Leave us alone, come on, we'll do it when we want to do it."
As well as working with the ITV morning show, she has also signed a lucrative contract with clothing range Boohoo as UK brand ambassador.
She will bring out her first fashion range with them this Christmas.
The former hairdresser is now tipped to earn the most out of all this year's Love Island contestants, given that she's so popular with the public.
