'Ice' drug gone from inner city
A suspected synthetic version of crystal meth has been cleared out of the north inner city following the successful implementation of Operation Hesitate by gardai at Store Street.
A gang had been operating in Mary's Mansions claiming to sell crystal meth or 'ice' last September, but eight people were arrested and charged after an early-morning raid.
The highly-addictive synthetic drug has not reappeared on the city's streets.
This came after Operation Tempest where 33 people were charged after a heroin raid in the North Wall area.
Gardai carried out 15,000 door-to-door interviews of north Dublin residents in the last 12 months and the number one concern was drugs.
