Joanna Cooper has revealed it was not a case of love at first sight for her and Conor Murray when they first met.
The Derry girl (24) and the rugby player have been dating for more than a year after meeting on a night out in London.
Asked if it she was smitten from the get go, Joanna laughed and said, "I'm not sure if I'd say that."
The former Miss Universe Ireland winner said that the couple have a very laid-back relationship and noted they would be spending time in Portugal and Greece this summer.
Joanna has been based in London for several years where she models with brands like Agent Provocateur. She became a model after being scouted by a casting director on Instagram and was in London just two weeks later.
"I didn't really fit in around my estate at home. And I didn't want to sit around and do nothing. So I just said I'd go for it," she told Irish Tatler magazine.
The model insisted there's no fear of her developing 'notions' from living in the city.
"I've four older brothers and if I came home with a London accent they would rip into me, so there's no fear of that happening," she said.
Joanna has a large following on social media but is not immune to the negative feelings many people get when they are confronted with airbrushed images online.
"It's a love/hate relationship. You can come off it after spending hours on it and seeing those Insta girls... you end up wanting a new set of abs, new hair and a whole new life.
"Sometimes it's too much. But at the same time, it's useful for work. It's finding balance, I suppose," she said.
Joanna recently attended the wedding of rugby star Jack McGrath in Portugal along with several of his teammates.
