'I was proud to take Paul's name' - newlywed Rosie
Newlywed Rosie Connolly Quinn has spoken of her pride at taking her husband Paul's surname.
The couple wed last month in a romantic ceremony in Carton House, Co Kildare, in front of 95 guests.
"I wanted to keep Connolly because that's what I'm known as but I did want to take Quinn because, of course, I am proud of Paul and his name," said Rosie.
"I want to feel like I have that part of him as well, it was a massive thing for me. We're only married a couple of days and I already feel like I'm a wife."
Some well-known faces were in attendance including blogger Terrie McEvoy, model Michele McGrath and Dancing With The Stars' spin-off host, James Patrice.
Speaking about the build-up to the day, Rosie admitted she only started to get nervous when she arrived at the venue.
"I just felt this air of excitement and I was kind of standing around going, 'Ok, this is really relaxing'.
"We popped a bottle of Champagne and watched the royal wedding and it was just such a fun time.
"The only time I got nervous was when I reached Carton House," she told VIP Magazine.
Rosie described the ceremony as "so special" and said the couple had their first dance to Emeli Sande's Breaking The Law.
It was a case of instant attraction for the couple who first met several years ago in the Grafton Lounge.
"I remember saying to my girls, 'look at your man over there, he's gorgeous'.
"The next day I texted my friend and I just said, 'will you send him my number?' I didn't care, I was like, 'I have nothing to lose'. I think he texted me about 10 minutes later," she said.
Paul added: "Worked out well, didn't it? I remember seeing her and I was just like, 'I have to talk to her'. That sounds cheesy."
