Lucy Kennedy had to switch off her phone because pal Gemma Collins was texting her bizarre messages at "crazy hours" of the morning.

Lucy became a temporary roommate of The Only Way Is Essex star when she moved in with her for a weekend last year while filming Livin' With Lucy.

The Ireland's Got Talent host said the pair stayed in touch after the show until she began receiving strange messages from Gemma.

"We kind of stayed in touch for a while, but then she would text me at crazy hours, telling me that she was connecting to the moon and that her fortune teller wanted to talk to me," she told the Herald.

"I thought, 'Ah here, good luck to ya'. For a while I had to put my phone on flight mode. She really is a total diva, but so lovable and such fun that she just gets away with it.

Delayed

"She was giving out that she wanted to get her hair done one day and I was annoyed with her for about 30 seconds. She's the kind of person that you just can't be annoyed with."

Livin' With Lucy was due to return to TV screens in September but production could be delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"We just have to wait and see what the craic is with the old Covid-19 regulations because obviously if I'm living with somebody I would like to kind of get close to them.

"It's just a case of when do we film," Lucy said.

The show is one of three projects the presenter has had to put on hold, including two new shows.

"It's all unfortunately on pause because there was an audience involved, so that's not a runner now, but I would like to think it would still go ahead," she said.
