SHE gunned down the country's favourite green-eyed gangster in the season finale of Love/Hate.
And while actress Caoilfhionn Dunne, who plays shaven-haired assassin Lizzie, was prepared for an onscreen backlash – she's suffered abuse off-screen as well.
The 28-year-old actress says fans of the show have been up in arms since she shot down bad boy Darren (Robert Sheehan).
"I only found out that was going to happen when I got the script for that week's filming," she said.
"And it only came as a small piece of direction at the end of the script saying; 'shaven-headed person shoots Darren'.
"Straight away I thought 'oh no, they are going to hate me. I'm shooting the best-looking boy on Irish television'."
But despite the violent plot-twist, Caoilfhinn says she was pleased her character turned out so differently from the other female characters in the series.
"I was excited for them to go that way with the character of Lizzie and bring in a woman who was different from the others," she explains.
"I was nervous to have that responsibility, but it was a great experience."
Caoilfhinn says she was 'freaked out' when people started recognising her from the show.
"It was so strange that people thought they knew me."
Caoilfhionn was back shooting the fourth series of Love/Hate in O'Devaney Gardens in Dublin yesterday with many local kids appearing as extras.
"On a film set you're in at 6am straight into make-up then on to set with a camera in your face and shoot the scene. The way you work on Love/Hate is fantastic. It's really live and fresh."
