I always wanted to be on radio, says Daniella

DJ Daniella Moyles has revealed that her heart was never fully in modelling and that she always wanted a career in radio.

Spin 1038 presenter Daniella (inset) admitted that she had always wanted to be a broadcaster and decided to pursue her dream "hell for leather".

"I was always very honest with the fact that modelling was something that I didn't have a huge amount of aspiration to continue in," she said.

"It was something I did here and there and I really enjoyed it - it's a great job.

"But in terms of branching out or going to London... it wasn't really for me.

"I was also very honest that broadcasting was where it was for me," she added.

The Kildare beauty got her big break when iRadio producers spotted her volunteering at Freak FM.

"The actual way it happened is we both started on Freak, which is like Communicorps talent pool," she said.

"It's like a voluntary radio station where you can learn things you need for radio, like audio editing and using the desk.

"It's broadcast online so people do listen. but thankfully not that many so you can learn from your mistakes there.

"From there [me and Cormac Moore] got placed together having never met each other on a show down in iRadio which is based in Athlone and from there we moved onto Spin so that's how it happened," she added.

The duo are now presenting Spin's most popular show, The Zoo Crew, which airs Monday to Friday, 6.45pm until 8.45pm.

Daniella also runs a breakfast bar at Dublin's top frozen yogurt spot, Yogism in the George's Street Arcade.
