Hotels' cut-price deals
IRISH hotels reported a 41pc drop in business throughout 2010, according to Failte Ireland, but the majority are planning to cut prices to lure back guests.
Budget hotel group Travelodge Ireland has taken the step to encourage more Irish holidays in 2011 by reducing room rates to €19. Seamus McGowan, Managing Director of Travelodge Ireland, said that the rate applies to Travelodge's 11 hotels throughout the country during 2011, when purchased online at Travelodge.ie.
"Most people plan their next year's holidays during the Christmas break and with €19 rooms on offer in our hotels throughout 2011 on Travelodge.ie, we hope that a weekend break or staycation may now be more affordable," he said.
