Honohan on Dame St protests
CENTRAL Bank Governor Patrick Honohan has insisted it is not planning to take any action against the Occupy Movement on Dame Street.
"We don't welcome their presence, but -- as long as no-one is harmed or put in danger by them -- we are not at present inclined to take action to have them moved away," Professor Honohan said.
He has also confirmed the bank was looking for a new headquarters in the city to accommodate its increased staff numbers.
However, there could be scope to retain some central banking activities at the Dame Street site for a number of years, he said.
