Heartbroken family say goodbye to Melanie
THERE were heartbreaking scenes as innocent murder victim Melanie McCarthy was laid to rest.
Her fiance Christopher Moran wept openly as he led mourners behind the 16-year-old’s pink coffin.
As the teenager was buried in London, the two suspects for the shocking murder were being quizzed by gardai in Dublin.
Her heartbroken father today described Melanie, who was shot dead in Tallaght last week, as “the greatest love of all”.
The teenager’s remains being brought to her final resting place in a white carriage drawn by four white horses wearing pink plumes.
She was buried in a pastel pink casket and dressed in a pink tracksuit for the funeral.
Melanie’s fiance Christopher, believed to be the intended target of the murder, broke down as he followed the casket.
