Happy ending for dad with sick baby who missed final
A devoted Dublin dad had to give away his ticket to the All-Ireland when his newborn baby became ill.
Sasha Jordan who is dad to three- week-old Myles was present at the Dubs wins in 1983 and 1995.
When the Dubs visited Temple St they heard about the devoted fan who had missed the game and made sure he got up close to the trophy
"It's great that the lads came in with the cup. I caught the second half on telly, so it was great to get a hold of Sam," he added.
"I'm originally from Blanchardstown but I'm living in Ashbourne now, and of course I'm still shouting for the Dubs," Sasha told Michael Darragh Macauley.
"I think the fans shout even louder when they move beyond the pale," Macauley laughed.
Then Sam was introduced to his namesake -- little Sam Murphy, who hails from Kerry.
Sam has had three major surgeries on his throat since he was born nine months ago. "He had an operation last Thursday, at least this is one Sam we'll get to take home," his father Shane laughed down the phone from Kerry. "There'll be a lot of excitement because the lads went to see him. It's fantastic of them."
Seven-week-old Coolock baby Macie Madden looked tiny as she took a nap in the Sam Maguire. Mum Nicola Madden and dad James Bowe are nursing Macie back from suspected meningitis.
