Hannah sets her sights on being Elle's choice for Next Top Model

This is one of the Irish contestants who has made it into the finals of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model.

The Herald can reveal how Ballsbridge native Hannah Devane (20) has been chosen by supermodel Elle McPherson (inset) and her panel of judges as one of the leading contenders in the new show.

In addition to being one of the hot favourites in this month's Miss Universe Ireland, she will also be on our small screens shortly after making it through the gruelling auditions stages of the popular Sky Living TV show.

Last year's show saw Dublin native Sue Loughnane making it into the Top Model house, with producers deciding to extend the search for the 2011 show to include Ireland also.

The whole team came over to film parts of the new series at swish Carton House in Kildare last weekend.

Last February saw Aussie beauty Elle flying over here alongside judge Grace Woodward on a scouting mission to track down some fresh faces for the competition -- and obviously liked what they saw when it came to Hannah.

The 5'10" blue-eyed beauty, who's studying social science in UCD, has been in the modelling business for more than two years after winning a Gillette competition when she was just 18 and is represented by John Compton's agency.

"Hannah's a stunning looking girl and is quite sallow so doesn't have that typical Irish look like Sue Loughnane but takes great shots and has a brilliant future ahead of her in the modelling world," said an insider.

When asked by the Herald about being on the show, Hannah declined to comment, saying it was "just a rumour". However, all the contestants have signed a confidentiality agreement to ensure all the finalists' identities are kept under wraps until the new show airs this summer.

This summer's programme will see the addition of a new casting call, where Elle and her team will be seen scouting for talent on the street.
