Guest 'tried to have sex with host'
A HOUSE guest who allegedly came into his host's bedroom and tried to have sex with him has been sent forward for trial.
The victim is alleged to have awoken in the middle of the night and found the defendant on top of him, trying to have sex with him.
The defendant has been ordered to stay away from the alleged victim, and to have no contact with him.
He is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after a judge ruled the allegation was too serious for the District Court.
The alleged incident took place at a house in Clondalkin on May 23 last year.
Garda Sergeant Maria Callaghan previously alleged that the victim, the defendant and others had been at a party.
She said a number of them returned home to the victim's home, and they all went off to sleep in different bedrooms.
It was alleged that the victim awoke in the middle of the night with the defendant on top of him in the bed.
The case goes forward to the next sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
