'Guerin suspect has heart attacks'

FUGITIVE gangster John Traynor is seriously ill after suffering several heart attacks, it has emerged.

The Veronica Guerin murder suspect failed to appear in a Dutch court for an extradition hearing yesterday. It was revealed in the court that Traynor was seriously ill. Security sources in Holland said that Traynor was "very unwell" after suffering a number of heart attacks in recent times.

Meanwhile, the decision on whether to extradite Traynor to the UK has been postponed.

The Dutch court heard that a mistake in the paperwork filed by British police seeking the extradition of Traynor had to be amended before the court can make their decision.

The British authorities are seeking Traynor to return to the UK to finish a seven-year jail term for possession of over €4m worth of bonds.

It emerged in court yesterday that the British authorities had failed to fill in a vital section in the papers.
