Rupert Grint has beaten David Attenborough's rec-ord for the fastest time to reach one million followers on Instagram.
The Harry Potter star (32) joined the social media platform on November 10 and reached the milestone in four hours and one minute.
On joining in September, broadcaster Attenborough (94) secured seven digits in four hours and 44 minutes.
In his debut post the act-or, who played Ron Weasley in the films, cradled his daughter and joked that he was "10 years late" to Instagram.
His early follows included Attenborough and Potter co-stars Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger).
Before Attenborough, the previous record holder was Friends star Jennifer Aniston, who joined in October last year and gained a million followers in five hours and 16 minutes.
Footballer David Beckham, Pope Francis and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also been record holders in the category.
Grint shot to worldwide fame after starring in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001 as Ron, Harry's loyal but accident-prone best friend. He played the part in all eight films.
Grint's TV roles include Sky One comedy Sick Note, crime drama Snatch and Agatha Christie adaptation The ABC Murders.
He announced last May that he and his partner Georgia Groome, known for 2008 comedy Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, had welcomed their first child.
