Glued to the debate? Not me, says Kenny
ENDA Kenny won't even be watching his competitors as they debate with his empty seat on TV tonight.
As he was lampooned online today, the Fine Gael confirmed today that he won't even bother to tune in to TV3.
His Fianna Fail rivals have now uploaded a cheeky YouTube video of Kenny trying to explain his absence from the first television debate of the campaign.
In spite of the jeering from Fianna Fail, Mr Kenny remained defiant today saying he will be live on the "world-wide-Carrick" (the internet) at the same time as the TV showdown.
"I won't be watching TV3," he confirmed. "I'll be down in the west, I think, at a public meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon, which will be streamed live on the web. World-wide Carrick," he said on Newstalk Breakfast.
TV3 debate chairman Vincent Browne has condemned Mr Kenny's refusal to take part.
