TWO friends who stole women's clothes from a Dublin store have been given four-month suspended sentences.
Claudine McAuley (32) and Anthony Gleeson (29) had their sentences suspended for a year at Dublin District Court.
McAuley, of Finglaswood Road, and Gleeson, of Valeview Drive, Finglas, pleaded guilty to theft at Dunnes Stores, Donaghmede.
Judge Bryan Smyth was told the defendants took €633 worth of goods and left without paying.
The court heard it was an "opportunistic" theft.
"It is difficult to imagine circumstances where they wouldn't have been apprehended," their lawyer said.
The accused, who had one child each, were in "very poor economic circumstances".
