Forget Elvis - there's nothing quite like the buzz of Ireland's Call
HAVING Elvis sing one of your songs is nothing compared hearing a packed house sing Ireland's Call says Phil Coulter (below).
Coulter (73) penned the tune over twenty years ago. "There are lots of ways songwriters can measure success. You can sell a million records, get a number one, have a song covered by Elvis Presley or win the Eurovision song contest. Those are all terrific. But something like Ireland's Call transcends all of that," he told Newstalk radio.
Coulter said nothing can beat the feeling of "standing in Landsdowne Road and hearing a full house singing my song, singing my words, singing my tune."
