FM104 DJ suspension 'nothing to do with' Ed
SINGER Ed Sheeran has said the suspension of FM104 Strawberry Alarm Clock presenters Jim Jim Nugent and Mark Noble had "nothing to do with" him.
The Lego House singer tweeted in response to reports that the pair's suspension from the station came after they broke the embargo on the Croke Park gig announcement.
News of Sheeran's upcoming gig at the stadium was due to be revealed at 8.55am, with the singer appearing on Ryan Tubridy's 2fm show at that time to announce the news himself.
However, Jim Jim and Nobby broke the story prior to the embargo and were promptly taken off air and replaced by DJ Killian O'Sullivan.
A statement was issued on the show's Facebook page which said the duo had broken the embargo.
"Despite getting a phone call from FM104's CEO Margaret Nelson confirming the embargo last night, the guys didn't take it seriously enough," it read.
"After a difference of opinion, programme director Dave Kelly went into the studio at 9am and told the presenters that due to the seriousness of their actions they would be suspended until further notice."
The presenters will be back tomorrow to host a giveaway so it is unclear exactly when the suspension will begin.
