First Twitter, now Linda is faced with Facebook impostor
SHE has already called in the gardai over a fake Twitter account -- but now Linda Martin is dealing with another impostor on Facebook.
The panto queen took action last month when an internet user created a Twitter account in her name and started a massive row with singer Sinead O'Connor.
After being alerted by close friends Linda asked the micro-blogging site to shut the false account and reported the issue to the gardai.
But now Linda (58) has revealed that she has found herself in a similar situation on Facebook. The star, who is working with Jedward on their Eurovision song, has admitted that she has now found a fake Facebook account in her name.
"The whole thing was horrible," she told the Herald. "The Twitter account has been deleted since. I've never tweeted or even been on Facebook, and I certainly won't be doing it now," she said.
Linda made the comments yesterday while she was honoured with The Variety Gold Heart Award For Outstanding Contribution To Irish Entertainment.
The Belfast native said she was "shocked" to receive the award and initially turned down the honour because "she didn't feel worthy".
