fff Discover Ireland is encouraging shoppers to think outside the box and buy unusual gifts for their family and friends this Christmas. Head to the Designer Mart at Cow's Lane in Temple Bar to hunt down one-off, unique gifts, from hand-crafted hats to metal sculpture, photography, paintings, ceramics, furniture, jewellery and children's clothing. Or enjoy a great rummage at the Ha'Penny Flea Market in The Grand Social on Lower Liffey Street on Saturday afternoons.

fff If you're fed up of Christmas carols by December 28, head to the Stag's Head on Dame Lane where country rock band SpiritRiders will be entertaining revellers for the evening. The five-piece Dublin-based band play original songs and their set also contains songs by Hank Sr, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Admission to their gig is €8 and tickets are available on the day with doors opening at 4pm.

fff Sile Seoige and her celebrity friends, including Kathryn Thomas, Caroline Morahan, Paddy McKenna and Rob Heffernan joined together to record a charity Christmas single - Maybe This Christmas - featuring the Palestrina Choir, the Pro-Cathedral Girls Choir & the Famous Faces Choir. The single is in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation and Childline and is available to pre-order from iTunes from November 28 and will be officially released on Friday, December 5.

fff The first Irish Blogger Conference will take place at the Spencer Hotel on Saturday November 29 from 1pm to 5pm. There will be speakers from the beauty, business, fashion, lifestyle and food disciplines, including SoSueMe's Suzanne Jackson, Leanne Woodful and Pichet's Nick Munier.
