Colin Farrell's latest film The Lobster looks set to hit the big screen this autumn.
The romantic drama, which recently won the Jury Prize at Cannes, will be released to cinemas in Ireland and the UK on October 16.
The movie, which was filmed in Kerry, also stars British actress Rachel Weisz and is set in the future when people are forced to find love within 45 days to escape being arrested and transformed into animals.
The futuristic love story is Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos's first-ever English language project and it has received rave reviews from critics since the French film festival.
Castleknock native and Hollywood heartthrob Colin (38) had to make a dramatic transformation for his role in the film and gained 40lbs in the space of two months.
The former Ballykissangel star revealed the extreme measures he went to in order to pile on the pounds.
"I would put [ice cream] in the microwave to melt and drink it," he said.
"Two cheeseburgers, fries and Coca-Colas, and two slices of chocolate cake at 10am is not fun - and I love cheeseburgers."
It took up to four pints of Haagen Dazs a day to help him pile on the pounds.
"My body was in total shock," he added.
At the film's premiere the star was taken aback at his appearance in a topless scene.
"I gasped. I'd forgotten what it looked like," he told Hollywood Reporter.
"In fact it looked like a dad bod."
