Family get miracle as Caitriona comes home
THE LAW graduate who has been missing for almost a week is back home today after turning up safe and well.
Caitriona Horan (22) was reunited with her delighted family yesterday afternoon in Pearse Street Garda Station following a nationwide search.
When she showed up at the station, she told gardai that she had not realised she had been reported missing by her family.
A member of the public spotted Caitriona in a cafe in Dawson Street yesterday afternoon, and contacted gardai.
But she had left the cafe by the time gardai arrived and made her way independently to Pearse Street Garda Station.
Her relieved aunt Cathy McGowan said the family were thrilled that she was alive and unharmed.
"This is excellent news, thank God. The longer this went on the more concerned we were getting, but you have to remain hopeful.
"Catriona has been speaking to her sisters and said she is doing fine and there is nothing to worry about.
"We are absolutely overjoyed and so grateful for the publicity and help we got from her friends and the media to help locate her.
"I am so glad that this had a happy ending as we know so many other cases where that was not the case," she added.
Caitriona who lives with her widowed mother, Peggy, at Tawnylea, Drumkeeran, Co Leitrim, graduated from Trinity college with a law degree last December.
