Fake belly held 2.1kg of cocaine
Police in Brazil have arrested a woman carrying 2.1kg of cocaine stashed inside a fake pregnant belly strapped around her waist.
The 20-year-old woman was arrested after arriving at the international airport in the north-eastern city of Natal.
The woman arrived from central-western Brazil and became nervous during routine questioning of passengers coming from areas where "drug trafficking levels are high".
The woman admiteed she was carrying the drugs. A man waiting for her was also held.
Poles' fury at 67 retirement age
Thousands of people from across Poland demonstrated noisily outside parliament to protest plans to raise the retirement age to 67.
The law currently allows women to retire at 60 and men at 65, but Prime Minister Donald Tusk wants to raise the retirement age to 67 for all Poles, saying it will increase pensions while reducing state debt.
The unions are deeply unsatisfied by a new agreement that would allow people to go into partial retirement earlier but with lowered monthly payments for the rest of their lives.
24,000 enjoy stroll on pier
THE town of Dun Laoghaire has seen a record number of visitors to its pier as people made the most of this week's good weather.
Fine Gael TD Mary Mitchell O'Connor said: "Over 24,274 people are reported to have visited the pier last Sunday, which is a fantastic boost for the town. Dun Laoghaire pier is renowned throughout Dublin as being an excellent place to bring your families for an afternoon stroll.
"A record 1.3m people visited the pier in 2011 and I am confident that we can set a new record for 2012."
I'm no hero -- air drama co-pilot
The JetBlue Airways Corp co-pilot who locked his ranting captain out of the cockpit this week was voted his high-school's "most understanding" senior and, his father Lewis Dowd (82) said, wouldn't like being called a hero.
Jason Dowd (41) doesn't think he did anything special on Tuesday when he diverted the plane to a safe landing.
