Fagan's new bank role
THE Central Bank has appointed a new chief economist.
Gabriel Fagan joins from the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, where he held a number of key roles, including most recently senior advisor in the Directorate-General Research since 2011.
He also previously headed up the Monetary Policy Research and Economic Modelling divisions.
Mr Fagan replaces Lars Frisell, who left the Central Bank earlier this year to take up a post with the International Monetary Fund's Africa training institute in Mauritius.
