IRISH executives are more optimistic about their own career prospects, particularly in the pharmaceutical and life sciences area, a poll has found.
Almost 79pc of those surveyed believe their career prospects in the past year have either improved or remained the same.
The pharmaceutical and technology sectors were most upbeat but construction and tourism sectors were the most pessimistic.
The 2012 survey of 300-plus executives conducted by Amarach Research, reflects an even more positive outlook than 2011 when 71pc believed their career prospects had improved. Kieran Duff, of executive search firm MERC Partners, said: "It is encouraging to see senior executives open to new career challenges."
