Emirates hunts 4,000 cabin crew

DUBAI airline Emirates is holding four recruitment days in Ireland to help fill its requirements for 4,000 cabin crew.

The recruitment days are being held in advance of the launch of Emirates' daily passenger service from Dublin to Dubai in January 2012.

The airline's VP for Britain and Ireland, Laurie Berryman, said: "We are looking to recruit 4,000 cabin crew and our policy has always been to recruit staff from countries where there is a strong hospitality tradition.

"We already employ a number of pilots and cabin crew from Ireland and hope that we can add significantly to these numbers."

The open sessions will take place in Dublin on October 27 at the Central Hotel on Exchequer Street.

There will also be recruitment events at the Harbour Hotel on New Dock Road in Galway on October 30; at the Limerick Strand Hotel on November 2; and at the Gresham Metropole Hotel on MacCurtain Street, Cork, on November 5.

Emirates already employs 232 Irish nationals, 139 of whom are cabin crew based in Dubai.

In a statement, the company said: "The recruitment days offer interested applicants the opportunity to explore a unique career opportunity and learn about living in cosmopolitan Dubai.

"A thriving metropolis, Dubai offers an exceptional lifestyle and a vast range of leisure and cultural attractions, in addition to the sunny weather all year long." Further information can be found at www.emiratesgroupcareers.com.
