EMI sees profits drop

THE IRISH arm of record company EMI recorded a 50pc drop in physical music sales within the year.

Pretax profits at EMI Records (Ireland) fell to €2m last year from €3.95m in 2009.

EMI Group, which is now owned by Citigroup's private equity arm, has a line-up of artists that includes Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue.
