Eimear emerges as debate winner

AT LAST, a political debate with a winner - and that was the host.

After the 'grumpy old man style' of Vincent Browne, panache of Pat Kenny, Eimear Ni Chonaola has emerged as probably the clear winner.

She's certainly up there in the winning stakes with Pat.

The TG4 presenter was arguably the most relaxed chair as she refereed last night's debate as Gaeilge.

While the Irish language anchor may not be a household name just yet, she has previously been nominated in the Best Newsreader category at the TVNow Awards.

For the past five years, Eimear has been the main anchor for Nuacht on TG4.

Although not as well known as her counterparts on rival networks, Eimear was not intimidated.

Decked out in a stylish purple blouse and black pencil skirt, she has been praised for donning the appropriate attire for such a serious debate.

The debate took place early at the TG4 in Spiddal, Co Galway so it could be shown later with subtitles.
