KATY FRENCH'S pal Kieron 'Wolf' Ducie has been charged with assaulting the pregnant mother of his young child at their home.
Ducie (41) was released on bail but must keep away from his partner Elaine Buggle and must get "prior notice" to see their one-year-old son, a court ordered.
The assault is alleged to have occurred at his home in Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, Co Meath, last Friday, January 14.
The scrap dealer was arrested at his parents' home at Stonehaven, Ashbourne, Co Meath, yesterday morning and brought to Trim Garda Station.
Garda Edel Dugdale gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution. She told the Trim District Court that when the charge was put to Ducie he made no reply.
The accused did not speak during the brief hearing and Ms Buggle was not in court.
Ducie's barrister asked for his client to be freed on bail.
Gardai did not object to the application but insisted that a condition be attached relating to the alleged injured party.
Judge Patrick Clyne said: "I am granting him bail on condition that there be no contact of any kind with Elaine Buggle, her place of residence or her place of business."
He also stated that if Ducie wished to have contact with his son he must give "prior notice" and a third party must be involved.
Judge Clyne remanded Ducie on his own bond of €1,000 to appear again at Trim District Court on March 24.
The hearing at Trim District Court was over in less than 10 minutes during which time Ducie never spoke.
Prior to getting into a relationship with Ms Buggle, Mr Ducie had lived with accountant Ann Corcoran for a number of years. He was also previously married to another woman.
Well-known on Dublin's nightclub circuit, Kieron Ducie has been photographed in the company of several models, including the late Ms French.
His family owns a large haulage and scrap-metal business.
Guests at his 40th birthday celebrations in 2009 included Calum Best, the son of the late soccer star George Best, porn actress Tanya Tate and Big Brother contestant Noirin Kelly.
Ducie was a pal of the late Ms French who tragically died at Navan Hospital in December 2007.
She was a highly successful model on the Irish circuit who worked with the Assets modelling agency.
In the days before her death, Katy revealed how she had used cocaine.
A post-mortem exam carried out in the aftermath of her death revealed how the model had died after suffering brain damage.
Traces of cocaine were found in her system.
An inquest into her death is expected to take place in the near future.
