Drugs worth €520,000 recovered in garda raids
A man was arrested after drugs worth €200,000 were discovered at a house in south Dublin.
Cocaine with an estimated street value of €150,000 and heroin worth €50,000 were seized by gardai during the raid.
In addition, more than €80,000 in cash was seized when gardai swooped on the property in the Glenshane area of Tallaght at 10pm on Sunday.
A man in his early 40s was arrested and was being held last night at Tallaght Garda Station.
The raid was carried out by gardai from the Tallaght Drugs Unit, the Detective Unit and the DMR South Task Force.
It was part of a planned oper- ation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
The raid follows another seizure of drugs worth €320,000 in west Dublin over the weekend.
Gardai carried out a search of a private dwelling in the Ballyfermot area.
During the course of the search, offices recovered 2.5kg of cocaine and 7kg of cannabis herb with a combined street value of €320,000.
No arrests were made but enquiries are continuing.
The discovery was made as part of a joint Intelligence- led operation conducted by gardai attached to the Special Crime Task Force and the Ballyfermot District Drugs Unit.
