Drug firms lead way as output hits 15.7pc
MANUFACTURING in Ireland returned to strong growth over last year, rising by 15.7pc in November.
This was the best performance on a monthly basis in 2010 and the increase in production for October was revised to 8.7pc from 8.3pc.
In the basic pharmaceutical products sector, production rose almost 37pc while in the computer, electronic and optical products sector production fell 18pc.
The "modern" sector, comprising a number of high- technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for November 2010 of 21.7pc and an increase of 3.2pc was recorded in the "traditional" sector.
