She is the queen of Irish fashion and Louise Kennedy says she would love to dress the empress of the silver screen, Angelina Jolie.

The Tipperary native has dressed stars like Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Yasmin La Bon and Meryl Streep throughout her career.

"I do think Angelina is such a strong woman especially with her profile going in a new direction and her being a voice for women's rights," Louise told the Herald.

"Certainly in the last five years she has found a style that is elegant but she always keeps that slightly younger element to her look as well.

"I thought when she met the queen her look was just perfect.

"Another person who we have been lucky enough to dress in the past is Julianne Moore whom I hugely admire as an actress.

"She's in her fifties and she just looks amazing and she's such a lady as well," she added.

Louise launched her Spring Summer 2015 collection in the stunning surroundings of her Merrion Square flagship store yesterday afternoon and she revealed that her new line is inspired by cherry blossoms, the Hearst Castle in California, and even horses.

"Spring is in full bloom throughout the collection - I was inspired by cherry blossoms from the serenity of Japan, the rushing waves of the Big Sur in California and equestrian elegance and strength," she explained.

"For the Big Sur part of the collection the colour hues were taken from the swimming pool at the Hearst Castle that is halfway on the Big Sur drive from LA to San Francisco. There's a sleeve on one of the dresses that's done with tiny Swarovski crystals and it's in the style of a mosaic tile," she added.

The weather isn't always the best here but Louise insists that Irish women are not afraid to wear bright colours such as those in her new collection.

"Irish women are not afraid of colour - they embrace it," she says. "They particularly love colour for special occasion wear or if they're wearing monochrome they love a punch of colour."

Louise also debuted some of her new bridal designs yesterday and the full collection will be launched in March.

"The bridal collection is really interesting. Ever since the royal wedding, brides are still really interested in lace," she explained. "The particular lace we use is from the same French mill that wove the lace for Kate Middleton's wedding dress - we've worked for them for 15 years and the quality is just exceptional."
