A CONVICTED burglar had been charged with dealing heroin two months before he knocked an 83-year-old woman unconscious in a handbag mugging.
Trevor O'Shea (35), of Bulfin Park, Birr, Co Offaly, was given a two-year sentence yesterday after he pleaded guilty to dealing drugs in Dublin city centre in 2010.
Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that O'Shea was charged in January 2010 after gardai arrested him with over €20,450 worth of heroin.
Five days later O'Shea mugged grandmother Bridget Campbell on the steps of the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin.
O'Shea, already serving a four-year term for the attack, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin for sale or supply at in Dublin on January 27, 2010.
