Carnival

Model turned radio presenter Daniella Moyles got into the spirit of things as she dressed up to attend the Carnival celebrations in Brazil this week.

The Carnival is an annual festival held between the Friday 51 days before Easter and Ash Wednesday at noon, which marks the beginning of Lent.

The Spin 103.8 presenter posted numerous pictures and videos of the glorious beaches, colourful costumes and the festivities over her week-long trip. She said the festival was even more fun that St Patrick's Day.

"Had an absolute ball at the Sambadrome Parade closing part for Carnival 2015. It was the most incredible time ever - no words can describe it," she wrote online.

"Vegas, Broadway, Paddy's Day, Mardi Gras, any festival the globe over, sorry go home. No production, no party, or piece of theatrics could compare."

Not one to wear the wrong thing, Daniella partied the night away wearing a straw hat, a flower garland, a bikini with flowers attached and a shiny green grass skirt.

Fascinating

"Go see this in your lifetime. It started at 10pm and finished at about 6am and I felt like I was there for an hour, it's that fascinating," she added.

It wasn't all partying for the 27-year-old, who went on the trip with her pal Martin Gaughan, as the pair also went hiking in some picturesque locations including a visit to the Christ the Redeemer statue.

"Yesterday I saw a flying fish, snorkelled for hours to spot turtles or seahorses, and watched eagles," she captioned a picture of a beautiful beach with blue skies.

"And to top it all off the moon was out. I couldn't believe how perfect nature is," she added.

They also took off on a night-time hike up the 1,000m high Parrot's Peak.

"Seven hours round trip to the top of Pico Do Papagaio starting at 2.30am to catch the sunrise," she said. "Absolutely horrific torture but worth every ache and pain."
