Dad downed pills during garda raid
A FATHER-of-two swallowed his own prescription medication when gardai told him to open his mouth and hand over what they thought was a "suspect" drugs package, a court heard.
Jason O'Sullivan (38) admitted a charge of obstructing a drug search in the incident when he appeared in Dublin District Court.
Judge Timothy Lucey adjourned the case against him for a year and said he would strike the charge out if he completed a "life recovery" programme.
The judge remanded on bail for a year.
O'Sullivan, of Melrose Avenue, Clondalkin, was fined €100 for a separate theft charge after stealing a bottle of vodka from Dunnes Stores, on North Earl Street, on November 27 last year.
