ACTOR Brendan Gleeson has slashed €200,000 off the asking price for his Malahide home.
The In Bruges star put the property on the market just a few weeks ago with a price tag €1.3m. However, now the five-bedroom red- brick semi on Dublin Road can be snapped up for €1.1m.
The beautiful home in upmarket Malahide is a million miles away from the roles Hollywood actor Brendan Gleeson often plays.
The Dubliner enjoyed big-screen success alongside Colin Farrell in hit film In Bruges two years ago. And now he's the subject of rave reviews for his role in Irish film The Guard.
The film, which co-stars Iron Man and Hotel Rwanda actor Don Cheadle, will open in Irish cinemas next weekend.
Gleeson plays Sergeant Gerry Boyle, who is based in Connemara.
Gleeson's garda is pitched against FBI agent Wendell Everett, played by Cheadle, who has tracked an international cocaine smuggling operation to rural Galway. The one-time Harry Potter star portrays an eccentric rural village cop with a penchant for "the odd illegal substance".
